U.S.A. Block Watch Guard seeks Volunteers who can
post up in high trafic areas to help visitors/citizens get maps with directions to sites of interest such as basic restroom fascilities or the best Hilo has to offer
The guards would be the eyes and ears of the police
by the use of 9-1-1 for emergencies in progress.
These Block Guard positions are all voluntary positions held by well established citizens with
helpers who might be doing community service
which would provide mentoring for new citizenry.
These Block Guard positions in pairs would also participate in emergency disaster relief drills that
can be in the Merrie Monarch Parade in Hilo.
We want to offer an opportunity for every citizen tobe a viable citizen of the collective community in force so in times of emergency disaster the private citizen will be a part of the solution like friends and family here.
